But one popular dish found in both Mexico and in Mexican restaurants across the United States is chamoyadas (cham-oh-YA-dahs). Chamoyadas are essentially shaved ice flavored with fruit syrup, chili powder, and other ingredients and served with green tamarind candy pieces on top.

What is Chamoyadas?

Chamoyada is a fruit-flavored drink made with chamoy. It is a spicy and sweet shaved ice with chamoy, chilli powder, lime, and mango as the main ingredients. It’s a Mexican dessert made with fruit, water, sugar, and chamoy, a spicy sauce. The term “chamoyada” comes from the Nahuatl word “chamiyotl.”

It is popular in Mexican cuisine and can also be found in areas of the United States with a large Mexican-American population. Chamoyadas, or chocolate-covered frozen fruit drinks, are one of Mexico’s most popular desserts. They’re simple to make, delicious, and freeze well, making them ideal for beating the summer heat.

You can have any flavor of Chamodaya that you want; the difference is in the recipe. Tamarind, strawberry, cucumber and lime, mangonada (mango), pineapple, and other fruits are among these flavors.
