West Ham United initiate discussions to sign Borussia Dortmund star
West Ham United are in talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign their attacking ace Niclas Fullkrug before the end of the transfer window.
Priority one for West Ham United is to bolster their assault before the upcoming season begins. One of their goals is to replace the current number nine, Niclas Fullkrug. The Hammers have initiated negotiations with Borussia Dortmund to sign the German international, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Luis Guilherme’s arrival has undoubtedly improved West Ham’s offensive. They will have a lot more firepower going forward thanks to the 18-year-old. However, the reality that they require a fresh number nine to spearhead their attack is not significantly altered by his presence.
Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are two strikers in Julen Lopetegui’s squad. Both of the seasoned forwards, though, are much past their prime. Antonio is 34 years old, and West Ham needs a replacement badly. Jhon Duran was the perfect replacement that the Hammers had found for him.
They were discussing a possible deal with Aston Villa. The West Midlands team is prepared to approve his exit, but they want to pay a hefty sum to let go of the 20-year-old Colombian sensation.
Niclas Fullkrug of Borussia Dortmund is one of the players that West Ham is keeping an eye on after they were unable to reach an agreement with Aston Villa on his transfer.
Even at thirty-one, Fullkrug is still going strong. The seasoned striker joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of last year, and in his first season, he led the Bundesliga’s top team to the UEFA Champions League final with 15 goals and 10 assists in 43 games.
The Hammers believe Niclas Fullkrug could be a terrific short-term answer for their assault because of his performances. They have been in negotiations with Dortmund in an attempt to work out the terms of an agreement. He still has two years left on his contract, so the German team does have the advantage. Fullkrug is amenable to relocating to West Ham, though. Personal terms should therefore not be an issue.
