A head-on collision on NC-87 in Graham claimed one life.
WGHP, Graham, N.C. — The Graham Fire Department reports that a multi-vehicle incident in Graham on Tuesday afternoon resulted in one person being sent to the hospital.
Graham police and firefighters responded to a collision near the junction of East Crescent Square and South Main Street at approximately 2:35 p.m.
Arriving crews discovered that during the multi-car collision, one vehicle collided with a power pole.
One individual was injured and sent to the hospital. At this point, it is uncertain how severe the injuries are.
The damage to the electricity pole has not resulted in any reports of power disruptions.

According to troopers, a Hyundai struck a Chevrolet head-on after crossing the middle line. The Hyundai’s passenger passed away.
Note from the editor, Graham, N.C. The deceased passenger was identified by the State Highway Patrol as Burlington resident Jordan Casey Watts-Wilson, 38. The Highway Patrol said last week that the woman who died was not who the agency first reported she was.
According to state police, a head-on collision on Highway 87 in Graham claimed a life.
It occurred on Thursday just before 7 a.m. close to Boy Wood Road.
According to the Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Tommy Lynn Wilson’s Hyundai crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet head-on. Wilson was rushed to UNC Hospital with severe injuries, as was the 86-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, Nora Shelley. According to troopers, one of the Hyundai’s passengers suffered severe injuries and passed away at a nearby hospital.
Jordan Casey Watts-Wilson, 38, of Burlington, was eventually confirmed as the Hyundai passenger that perished.
Troopers are still looking into the collision. On Thursday, they will meet with the district attorney’s office in Alamance County to discuss charges.
