A deadly collision between Kilmarnock and Mauchline on the A76 has claimed the life of a 34-year-old man.

The 34-year-old biker was declared deceased at the site once emergency personnel arrived.

In order to conduct crash investigation work, the road was closed in both directions. It reopened Tuesday at approximately 2.45 a.m.

Road policing officials are now requesting information about the tragedy that occurred on Monday night.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and our investigations into the circumstances of what happened are ongoing,” stated Sergeant Martin Cunningham of the Irvine Road Policing Unit.

“I’m urging anyone who witnessed what transpired or who is driving nearby and has dash-cam footage that could help our investigation to please get in contact.”

On Monday, May 20, 2024, at around 6:55 p.m., a blue Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle was engaged in the incident.
