Police discovered body in search of a missing man in Royal Wootton Bassett
Officers responded to allegations of a disturbance in the High Street soon before midnight yesterday.
Two males were assaulted after an incident between two parties.
A man in his forties was rushed to the hospital for treatment of significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 37-year-old male was detained on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and actual bodily harm.
He was taken into Gablecross custody for interrogation and has subsequently been released on bail while the investigation continues.
Sgt James Osment stated, “Violence of this sort will not be condoned in our towns, and our officers responded quickly to this event and made an arrest. Enquiries into this are underway, and we would encourage any witnesses to contact us.”
