Police identify the pedestrian who died in a rural road accident close to Beith.

An emergency reaction has been triggered by a collision on a popular road in Beith.

At approximately 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, emergency personnel arrived at Barrmill Road to respond to a three-vehicle collision.

According to an eyewitness, a fire engine, an ambulance, and multiple police cars were present at the site.

Police have stated that plans have been made to hoist the vehicles, and there have been no reports of any major injuries.

“We were called to a report of a crash involving three vehicles on Barrmill Road, Beith, at approximately 8.35am on Thursday, September 5,” a Police Scotland spokesperson stated.

When emergency personnel arrived, no significant injuries were reported. Plans have been put in place to raise the cars.

“We were notified at 8.37am of reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle at Barrmill Road in Beith,” a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated.

“To support our emergency response partners, Operations Control sent one appliance to the spot.

“The crew left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed in a collision with a Land Rover.

On December 20, Derek Logan, 46, from the North Ayrshire region, suffered significant injuries on the A737 south of Beith.

According to officers, Mr. Logan was declared deceased at the scene of the event, which occurred at approximately 22:45.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage should contact Sgt. Brian Simpson.

He continued: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Logan’s family and friends at this difficult time and they have asked for privacy.”
