Three-year-old boy dies after horror incident at festival

Following a “medical episode” at a sizable family gathering, a three-year-old boy passed away.
Just after 23:00 BST on Saturday, Carfest at Laverstoke Park Farm in Overton, Hampshire, drew the attention of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary officers.
Shortly after being transported to the hospital by road, the youngster passed away.
According to the police, the death is being investigated as unexpected, and a coroner’s case is being created.

The festival’s organizers released the following statement: “All of our emergency teams worked together with the support of the NHS to take the child to hospital, where he sadly passed away.”
They also stated that the whole Carfest crew, including festival creator Chris Evans, were “deeply saddened” by the death.
“We have and will continue to respect the family’s wishes at this very difficult time and allow them to grieve in private,” the statement continued.
The helicopter from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was sent to the scene.

It further stated that after receiving care from a physician and specialized paramedic, a South Central Ambulance Service team transported the child to the hospital.

The festival took place from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August and was created by Radio DJ Evans in 2011 to help raise money for UK children’s charities.
