Sheffield Wednesday star announces anticipated date of return was disclosed.

Anthony Musaba's surprise Sheffield Wednesday absence explained - expected return date revealed

After Anthony Musaba missed Sheffield Wednesday’s goalless draw with Swansea City on Tuesday night, Danny Röhl explained why the Dutchman was not playing.
Röhl later expressed his anger at his team’s inability to turn good situations to set up assaults into real opportunities as a languid match ended goalless without Wednesday having taken a shot on goal. The frontline was reorganized, with Svante Ingelsson and Jamal Lowe taking over.

Röhl disclosed that Musaba, the Owls’ leading scorer for 2023–24, was anticipated to start the match against Swansea. The German coach acknowledged that the 23-year-old had suffered an injury, but he was anticipated to return when Wednesday traveled south to Portsmouth for a match that would be broadcast on television on Friday night.

“He had a knock at the Burnley game, and he has a minor injury,” Röhl told The Star. We know we have a very busy schedule, so taking him today would have been risky. I have no doubt that he will return on Friday, which is fortunate. Naturally, I had considered playing Anthony today from the start, but I had to decide today.

Since you would then have to make a choice, I didn’t want to place him on the bench. We needed to keep him safe. I didn’t want to be tempted to take a chance as manager after learning that I had Anthony since he might feel something and go.

With players like Josh Windass and Liam Palmer returning to action in recent weeks following a spell out, Wednesday’s injury problems are starting to improve. The only player still down is Nathaniel Chalobah, a longer-term absence. Röhl has choices to think about as they travel to Fratton Park in the hopes of getting back to winning ways.
