Midfielder signed with New County is eager to start playing

Kieron Evans, a midfielder for Cardiff City, has signed a temporary loan deal to play for Newport County, his neighbors.

Evans, 22, is a possible starter for the Exiles on Saturday, August 24, when they host Accrington Stanley in League Two.

Evans exclaimed, “I’m thrilled to be joining the club.”

Football League teams made me a number of offers, but I decided that moving to Newport County was the best option for me.

“I think my game will work well with the football approach.

“This season has a different mindset than the previous, and I am really thrilled about attempting to leave my imprint.

The manager of Cardiff, Erol Bulut, has been eager to send some of the young players on the Championship team out on loan so they can get the experience they need.

He designated Evans, Raheem Conte, and defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott for loan stints last week.

Eli King, a midfielder, signed a season-long loan with League One Stevenage Borough on Thursday.

Evans, a Brithdir product who inked a new contract with Cardiff this summer, spent last season playing on loan at Gateshead, a National League team. He had previously played for Torquay United. He has played for the Bluebirds in five league games.

Evans entered the game as a second-half substitute in Cardiff’s 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup first round.

However, Bulut thinks the Championship club can develop its young players in a very beneficial way thanks to the loan arrangement.

Bulut declared: “They must play.” Without engaging in play, progress is impossible. It is crucial for them to have games, particularly for Evans.

“He did well when he came in against Bristol Rovers, but he needs to continue to show that he can improve in his performance on loan.”
