Two serious assault charges have been brought against Derek Nisbett in relation to the alleged incident at his Old Avenue residence.
The 42-year-old is accused of assaulting a woman by forcing her against her body and sending her plummeting down a flight of steps, where she suffered serious injuries.
According to the Crown’s charge, the allegation was made worse by the mention of abuse toward a spouse or former relationship.
He is accused of forcing another woman down the steps, causing her injuries, then abusing her.
Last Wednesday, May 15, Ayr Sheriff Court, saw the appearance of defense attorney Robert Logan from custody. Logan informed Sheriff Shirley Foran that his client had entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
He was taken back into custody and will now have to face the charges.
