Man killed in fatal hit-and-run accident as two detained following the death of four police officers
Tributes to 'kind and caring' father killed in Doncaster crash
According to police, the incident took place on College Road on Sunday at approximately 01.55 BST.
Emergency services were called and the man, who had suffered multiple injuries, was pronounced dead.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said it was believed he had been hit by a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.
The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
It requested that drivers examine dashcam footage from those who passed through the area late on Sunday night.
