Leeds United boss provide transfer update ahead of Middlesbrough clash.
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has provided a fresh transfer update during his latest pre-match press conference.
Prior to Wednesday’s [August 14] Carabao Cup match between Middlesbrough and Elland Road, Farke addressed the media.
In response to inquiries on his team’s transfer activities, the 47-year-old stated Leeds must be in the driver’s seat when it comes to securing a deal to bolster his roster, even though he did not provide any immediate updates.
“Yes, I’m completely at ease and there’s no panic at all because we have an excellent group and a fantastic basement to work in,” he stated.
“We have a spirited group, a close group, and new signings have to tick our boxes, so they need to have proper quality. The good news is that we don’t just need numbers, we need quality, so just players who will make our group even stronger. For that reason, we have to go carefully.
“[The player] must be there with a top mindset and personality, and the deal must be both affordable and one in which we have complete control, even if it is a loan arrangement.
“There are a lot of boxes to check. Sometimes you have to exercise a little more patience when you don’t have a lot of money.
“I have complete faith in our owners and important personnel. We’re working hard on it behind the scenes, but we can’t confirm anything at this time. We’ll watch over the next few weeks to see what occurs. We’re having a good conversation, so we’ll see.
After the disappointing 3-3 draw against Portsmouth on the first day of the 2024–25 Championship season, Farke is under pressure to bolster his team before the August 30 deadline.
As the Whites started a new campaign in the second tier without Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville, who left Elland Road this summer, the outcome increased the supporters’ uneasiness.

The Whites have designated Mike McGrath, a winger for Norwich City, as their Summerville replacement. The Whites plan to be aggressive in the closing weeks of the transfer window. Despite criticism from Ligue 1 team Marseille, there is still hope that the sale will go.
