Fulham set sights on new signing as exit confirmed, ‘unbelievable’ player is on his way for medical
HITC is aware that Tim Ream, a defender for Fulham, has reached an agreement to depart the team.
The 36-year-old US international is expected to sign a contract with MLS team Charlotte FC this summer.
Tim Ream will spend his last years as a player in his native country after spending nine years at Craven Cottage.
Ream is presently on his way to have a medical examination before the agreement is finalized, HITC can confirm.
Ream began his professional career with the New York Red Bulls in the United States. In 2012, he moved to England and joined Bolton Wanderers, then in 2015, he joined Fulham.
He has grown to be a Cottagers fan favorite, and Fulham manager Marco Silva called him “unbelievable.”
With three acquisitions now confirmed by the London team, Fulham has had a busy summer.
Emile Smith Rowe, who signed a £35 million contract with Fulham last week, is the team’s biggest addition.
Additionally, they bolstered their defense by spending £6.7 million to acquire Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal. Due to Marco Silva’s “very difficult” admission, Fulham is unable to sign the £21 million star.
After losing Ream and Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea this summer, HITC sources have verified that Fulham is still looking for a defender.
Adarabioyo is expected to be replaced by Cuenca, although Fulham doesn’t have many choices at center defense after Ream moved to Charlotte.
Next Friday is Fulham’s away Premier League opener against Manchester United.
On Saturday afternoon, they play a friendly match against Hoffenheim to conclude their pre-season preparations.
As far as HITC is aware, Fulham and the player who will replace Tosin Adarabioyo as a defender have reached an agreement.
Early in the summer transfer season, Chelsea finalized the signing of English defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who left Craven Cottage on a free transfer.
Adarabioyo rejected Manchester United’s invitation to sign a contract to transfer to Stamford Bridge this summer, and Newcastle retracted their offer.
Although the loss of Tosin on a free transfer is devastating for the team, HITC is aware that Fulham is getting close to signing a defender to replace the former Manchester City player.
