Dundonald Road was stopped for several hours when an 80-year-old man died for no apparent reason.

The incident happened close to Porter Drive and the flyover bridge over the A71 bypass.

It is believed that the guy at the center of the event was a biker, and that the collision did not include any other cars.

Even though the death is mysterious, police acknowledged today that there don’t seem to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the occurrence.

Four hours after the incident was initially reported to the police, Ayrshire Roads Alliance announced that the road had reopened.

“In due course, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
