Following a deadly occurrence, an air ambulance was sent in for rescue in Suffolk.

Multi-vehicle crash including Suffolk school bus on College drive; lanes closed

SUFFOLK — Three children and three adults are among the six individuals injured in a multi-vehicle collision near the intersection of College Drive and Bridge Road. The city of Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue says the injuries are not life-threatening.

The bus was recognized as Creekside Elementary School bus #410.

Both southbound lanes on College Drive and northbound lanes on Bridge Road are closed, according to Suffolk Fire and Rescue. After being safely dropped off at Creekside Elementary School, the youngsters on the bus will need to be picked up by their parents.

A tragic single-vehicle collision on Holland Road is attended by Suffolk Police.

WAVY (SUFFOLK, VA) — On Tuesday evening, the Suffolk Police Department was called to a deadly single-vehicle collision on Holland Road.

Officials said that officers were called to the intersection of Route 58 and Holland Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. in connection with a car accident.

A box truck had overturned and plunged over a nearby embankment when the officers arrived on the scene. Todd Jones, 56, of Norfolk, the only person inside the car, was transported to a nearby hospital and subsequently passed away from his wounds.

While crews attempted to clean the scene of the incident, the eastbound lanes of the Holland Bypass were stopped for around nine hours. Since then, all lanes have reopened.

No new information has been made public, and the situation is still being investigated.
