Exclusive: What Everton are ready to offer Jordan Pickford in bid to keep him away from Chelsea and Barcelona- as well as Bayern Munich
The England international has been playing well at Goodison Park lately, keeping five clean sheets in his previous six Premier League games to help Everton climb to 15th place.
The Everton No. 1 has been a huge help to Sean Dyche as the Friedkin Group replace Farhad Moshiri and start a new era. Two of those clean sheets have come against Arsenal and Chelsea.
Though the England international is now hesitant to commit, Everton is eager to sign Jarrad Branthwaite to a new deal, therefore Dan Friedkin is eager to make some early moves to win over the Goodison Park supporters.
Jordan Pickford is another player the Toffees hope to sign to a new contract. TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has now revealed what Everton has in store.
According to reports, Everton is now eager to extend an offer to the 30-year-old that would keep him at Goodison Park until his retirement.
According to sources, Everton is eager to offer Pickford a contract that would last until at least 2030 with the possibility of an even longer extension, which could convince him to sign a contract unlike Branthwaite.
The Wearside man’s current deal is set to end in June 2027.
Pickford, who cost £30 million to sign from Sunderland in June 2017, has drawn interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich due to his outstanding Everton performances.
The Toffees, however, are determined to keep him from becoming a realistic addition to either of these teams and are optimistic they can convince the glovesman to spend the remainder of his career at Goodison Park.
According to Pickford’s remarks when he signed his most recent contract, Everton is certain that they will be able to retain the goalie for the remainder of his career, even though he may have given up a penalty against Chelsea.
“It’s huge to sign this new contract at such a special club for me,” he stated back in February 2023.
“My family and I have much valued the support I’ve had from everyone at the club when I arrived as a 22-year-old. My family and I are content here. At Everton, we adore it.
“This contract will keep me with Everton for more than ten years, and I want to leave a legacy here by becoming one of the best keepers to have ever played for Everton, up there with players like Neville Southall.”
