Following an automobile collision on an M1 exit slip road, a man was sent to the hospital with critical injuries.
On Sunday, about 03:00 BST, police responded to a single-vehicle crash on the northbound exit slip road at junction 21A, which links to the A46 near Kirby Muxloe.
The driver of a white Volkswagen Polo, 19, was transported to the hospital by Leicestershire Police, where he was still hospitalised due to serious injuries.
The police stated that no one else was believed to be in the vehicle and that no injuries had been reported. They also stated that an investigation was still underway.
From the force’s severe collision investigation section, Det Con Charlotte Wright stated: “We have been speaking with several individuals who were there at the site as we continue to piece together what happened and how it happened.
“We are still asking anyone who may have been in the vicinity but hasn’t gotten in touch with us for more information.
“Similarly, if you have any dashcam footage, please make contact with us.”
After the collision, the exit slip lane was closed for many hours, causing delays, and it reopened at around lunchtime.
