Report: Brisbane Broncos hand star man five-figure fine following NRL ban

After entering a guilty plea to one count of driving with a relevant substance in his blood and driving without a license, the court fined him $850 and disqualified him from driving for six months.

Additionally, it appears like the NRL will suspend him for nine games, which will cause him to miss a large portion of the Broncos’ season.

The club has now issued a statement confirming that the NRL’s notice and the Broncos’ five-figure sanction have been accepted by the standoff.

The Broncos also demand that Mam participate in a continuous employment and study placement, a safer driving training program, and a continuous wellness support program.

“While we are extremely disappointed that we have been placed in this position, we believe both the NRL and club-imposed penalties adequately reflect the gravity of what’s transpired and should act as a deterrent from this type of risky and anti-social behavior,” CEO Dave Donaghy said in a statement posted on the Broncos’ official website.

“Ezra has accepted responsibility for his conduct and demonstrated sincere regret towards everyone concerned, despite the fact that he obviously did the wrong thing.

He is aware of how this has affected the game and everyone around him.

Ezra has taken steps to get his life back on track since this incident and that must continue. We have been very clear about that.

“We believe the additional measures in place are important and will go hand in hand with integrating Ezra back into the work underway at the Broncos.”

The nine-game ban hasn’t been officially confirmed by the NRL, but he is expected to sit out of the first two months of the campaign.
