Aston Villa set to complete Man City transfer for midfielder return
Kane Taylor, who left Aston Villa’s academy five years ago, is reportedly set to return from Manchester City
According to reports, Aston Villa is very close to acquiring Kane Taylor, a midfielder for Manchester City who came up through Bodymoor Heath’s junior system.
2019 saw the 19-year-old depart Villa for City, but Fabrizio Romano claims he is ready to come back. After accepting a scholarship offer from City in 2021, Taylor joined the Under-18 team for the 2021–2022 season, participating in eight Premier League games for the U18 team and four Premier League 2 games.
Taylor played in 16 Premier League 2 games in 2022–2023 before notching four goals in 19 games the previous season. With nine goal contributions in six appearances in the UEFA Youth League, the strong midfielder grabbed attention.

at addition to playing at his usual position of central midfield, Taylor can also play defense. He has not yet made his senior debut, and when his projected transfer is completed, it is unknown if he would play in Villa’s academy or go out on loan.
Since Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens took over the club in the summer of 2018, Villa has made significant investments in its academy operations and lowered the average age of its first-team roster under Unai Emery.
Villa acquired Kosta Nedeljkovic from Red Star Belgrade and Lino Sousa from Arsenal back in January. The 22-year-old Morgan Rogers also came from Middlesbrough, initially costing £8 million.
