Police reported the multi-fatal crash that closed all directions on US-6, causing severe delays in Price, Thursday afternoon.
UPDATE: Five killed in Carbon County crash identified
Officials said an SUV tried to pull into an acceleration lane going east on the highway but overshot and went into a lane with a semi pulling doubles. The semi tried to evade the SUV and lost control, pulling into westbound traffic and hitting a different SUV, pushing it into an embankment.
Someone was driving an ATV on the westbound shoulder when the semi collided with the SUV, causing that person to get hit as well.
All four people in the second SUV and the driver of the ATV were killed, officials said.
The driver of the first SUV was checked at a hospital and had minor injuries.
The semi truck driver had minor injuries, but police didn’t know if they were transported.
As of 11:30 a.m. monday, one lane of traffic was open.
