After an attack at Harrogate Park, two lads are hospitalized.
Two teenage boys have been taken to hospital after a serious assault in a Harrogate park, and two other boys arrested.
At 15:30 BST on Saturday, North Yorkshire Police were called to Valley Gardens over complaints of injuries sustained by the teens.
After the Yorkshire Air Ambulance touched down in the park, the area was blocked off for several hours by armed police.
The two boys’ hospital status is still steady.
Rumors that they had been stabbed went unconfirmed.
According to police, two teenage guys from the Leeds region were taken into custody on Saturday night in connection with the attacks.
Sunday saw the closure of Valley Drive and Valley Gardens while investigations were ongoing.
“I understand this incident may cause some concern in the local community,” stated North Yorkshire Police Det Ch Insp Dave Ellis.We are not currently searching for any further individuals related to this event, though. “Local officers will be in Harrogate today, as inquiries continue, and to provide reassurance to the public,” the statement reads.
At 8:46 PM GMT on Thursday, Yew Tree Lane, next to Ashville College, received a request for emergency services and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, according to the police.
When one of the automobiles struck the wall, the two 15-year-old boys—who were both students at the nearby Rossett School—were hurt.
The two boys were brought to the hospital. Officers from North Yorkshire Police are still on the site, and the road remains closed.
Situated on Green Lane in Harrogate, Rossett School is a sizable secondary school.
“Earlier today we were shocked to learn two of our students were involved in a road traffic incident close to the school,” principal Peter Saunders said in an interview with ITV.Staff members arrived on the site right away to offer assistance, accompanied by Ashville College colleagues and the emergency services.”
Mr. Saunders continued: “Our primary concern is that of our two students and their families at this challenging time.”We extend our warmest regards to them and promise to support any other schoolchildren who may have been impacted by this.”
Ashville College’s headteacher, Rhiannon Wilkinson, stated: “An incident outside the college has sadly resulted in two pupils from a nearby school being injured.”College employees attended to the victims until emergency services could arrive, giving first assistance as needed.”
“Our thoughts are with the pupils involved and their families,” she said, adding that letters had been sent to parents notifying them of the situation.
According to police, the incident is now the subject of an initial inquiry.
