Josh Mulligan eyes Dundee landmark against Rangers as he names teammate ready to ‘push on’

For the Scotland under-21 team, it is a significant milestone, and a victory over Philippe Clement’s team would make the day even more memorable.

“Hopefully I can be involved somehow this weekend and make that 100th appearance,” Mulligan said. Without a doubt, Ibrox games are enjoyable to attend.

Recently, it seems that the game has always taken place at night. This may be the first time I’ve attended one with a 3 p.m. start time. It will be somewhat different. Ibrox is enormous.

Both the stadium and the club are enormous. I’m excited about it. It has undoubtedly gone by fast. The first one, I believe, was against St. Mirren when I was sixteen. Even though a lot of time has passed, it seems to have flown past.

It’s a good milestone to reach, and I’m thrilled with it. So far, the voyage has been lengthy, but I plan to continue it.

“Winning the Championship has been the highlight so far,” Mulligan said, adding, “I played every game and it was a great season for me personally, for the team, and for the club.” The 22-year-old has had multiple stints in the Premiership with Dundee, but believes the highlight was leading his hometown team back to the top flight in 2023.

A lot of boys that I came through with were involved in that season as well. That did make it more special. But it wasn’t just them, the whole team were all really close and I still keep in touch with a lot of the boys.”

Fellow Dundee academy graduate Lyall Cameron made his 100th appearance for Dundee earlier this month. Mulligan knows you won’t see that happen at many Premiership clubs with regards to boys that have come up together through the ranks. He stated: “Lyall has done really well. Hopefully all of us can keep going and keep pushing on.

You very rarely see many academy boys make 100 appearances for one club, to be honest. For me and Lyall to do that is really good. Like I say, hopefully the other boys can do that as well and kick on.”

The worry for the Dundee fans is will Mulligan make the 150 game mark? He is out-of-contract in the summer and is still yet to pen an extension. The midfielder admitted talks are on-going and he certainly hasn’t closed the door on extending his Dens Park stay.

Mulligan stated: “To be honest, I’m just letting my agent sort all that out. It is a big decision. Look, I’m happy playing games of football.
