Exclusive: 20-year-old Cardiff City midfielder is being wanted by Exeter City
Cardiff City have a decision to make regarding the immediate future of the youngster in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 20-year-old Colwill joined the Robins in the summer to gain more playing time. Along with Carlisle United, Port Vale, and Fleetwood Town, the Gloucestershire team was demoted from League One the previous season.
They are currently in 13th place in the standings, five points outside of the playoffs.
Exeter City wants to entice Colwill to Devon this winter in order to strengthen their roster, according to Witcoop on X. Next month, Gary Caldwell has the ability to expand his team by adding some new players and letting go of some existing players.
He was given the green light to link up with Cheltenham Town to get some experience under his belt.
The Wales youth international left the Bluebirds on a temporary basis for the first time.
“I’m excited to be here, Cheltenham is a big Club, and I just can’t wait to get started,” he remarked at the time.
“Even though this is my first time away from Cardiff, I feel like I’m ready to play for the first team. I want to apply my current level of confidence to men’s football.”
I consider myself to be a box-to-box eight. I enjoy getting up and down, working hard without the ball, and pushing myself.
Since then, Colwill has had great success with the Robins, making 24 appearances across all competitions, 18 of which have been in the league, and scoring six goals.
He might be seen by Exeter City as a way to give their midfield greater depth and competition.
For the gamer, moving to the third tier would be the next logical step and an opportunity to challenge himself at a higher level.
He has been a regular for the Bluebirds at various different youth levels and has played five matches for their first-team to date.
