Rangers are keeping tabs on Falkirk star who has become one of the Scottish Championship’s top defenders.

The Ibrox club have sent scouts to watch the Bairns full-back on multiple occasions this term and had a representative at their 3-0 victory over Raith Rovers last weekend.

Adams, 23, has flourished under manager John McGlynn having had an unconventional journey into professional football.

The right-back has managed three goals and five assists from 23 outings in all competitions this season so far but having come from Cumbernauld Colts back in February, the player’s move to the SPFL came late.

But it could all have been different for the right-back who could be considered a long-term replacement for James Tavernier.

He did spend some time training with Gers back when he was a kid but his slight frame meant he was released by the club.

Adams also spent time on trial with Hibs and he joined Hearts before being let go at 15.

Gers are on the lookout for new talent with captain Tavernier now 33-years-old.

The potential signing of Adams would also benefit the club’s plans under Nils Koppen to sign homegrown talent to mould them into stars at Ibrox and sell on.

The Belgian has already promised to take a closer look at young Scottish talent and Adams would fit that bill.

Connor Barron is already starring for the club while Lennon Miller remains on the list.

It comes as a number of English Championship clubs are also watching Adams closely with a view to making a move.

Leeds United and Swansea are among several sides down south monitoring his progress but Falkirk remain in a strong position.

He is contracted until summer 2026 which means the Bairns would be due a fee if they decided to sell.
