Tragedy updates after serious three vehicle collision leading to road closure in Suffolk

Following a collision on the A12 in Suffolk on Wednesday, a truck flipped.
For car recovery, the northbound portion of the road between Holton St. Mary’s Junction 31 and Capel St. Mary’s Junction 32A was blocked.
The road was reopened shortly before midnight, according to a tweet from National Highways on X, formerly Twitter.
Nine fire engines were on the scene, including two crews from Suffolk and seven from Essex.
“There are seven appliances from Essex Fire and Rescue Service currently in attendance,” a Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman stated on Wednesday. One fire engine from Hadleigh and one from Ipswich East are currently present at SFRS.
“Suffolk Police and the East of England Ambulance Service are also in attendance.”
“We sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and an ambulance officer vehicle,” stated a representative for the East of England Ambulance Service.
“One person was transported to Ipswich Hospital.”

After a single vehicle collision closed a major route, a person with a significant head injury was sent to the hospital.
Following reports of an accident, emergency personnel were dispatched to the A143 at Barnardiston, close to Haverhill, Suffolk, at 07:34 BST.
A land ambulance transported one passenger to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Firefighters and an air ambulance were also there.
Suffolk Police stated that diversions were in place “but local roads are very busy” and urged drivers to find alternate routes.
A representative for the East of England Ambulance Service stated: “A response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance, an ambulance, and an ambulance officer vehicle were dispatched to the location.
“An adult man, who had sustained a serious head injury, was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
