Hull FC set to sign for new club as Super League interest revealed
Carlos Tuimavave, a former center for Hull FC, is expected to sign with Featherstone Rovers, a Championship team. The West Yorkshire team has reached an agreement with Tuimavave and is in a strong position to sign the player, who was eager to remain in the region, according to Hull Live.
The 32-year-old wants to stay in his hometown and is settled in East Yorkshire with his family. As initially reported by Hull Live, other Yorkshire clubs, namely Doncaster and York Knights, who are also Championship organizations, came in for Tuimavave.
According to new head coach Scott Taylor, the Kiwi was also questioned about his future by the Goole Vikings. But the Kiwi will now play at Featherstone through 2025 and beyond.
Tuimavave has previously expressed a desire to play in Super League, with Hull Live understanding there was also some dialogue with St Helens. However, his preference to stay in Yorkshire was a stumbling block.
Tuimavave left Hull FC after the Catalans Dragons game last month following nine seasons with the club. In total, he played 182 times for the Black and Whites, winning the Challenge Cup in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He scored 57 tries and also has three caps for Samoa on the international stage.
He will be reunited with former teammate Connor Wynne at Featherstone. The former Hull young gun has enjoyed a strong first season in the second tier, scoring 21 tries in just 26 appearances.
