5 killed after NJ Transit train hits truck

An NJ Transit River Line train struck a truck in Burlington, New Jersey, near Dulty's Lane Crossing on Friday,

An NJ Transit train struck a truck in Burlington, New Jersey, early on Friday morning, injuring five persons.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., a NJ Transit representative stated that a truck was impacted by a River Line light rail train close to Dulty’s Lane Crossing.

 

At the time of the collision, there were 36 passengers on the train. Four passengers and the train’s operator both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. It is still unknown from officials if the truck driver suffered major injuries.

 

Due to the collision, River Line light rail service between Burlington Town Centre and Florence Station is presently suspended in both directions. In the meanwhile, a stand-in bus service is offered.

The crash is currently being looked into by NJ Transit Police.
