Sheffield United striker Kieffer Moore has set his sights on promotion to the Premier League after an unbeaten start to the campaign.

After helping Ipswich Town end their 22-year absence from the top division, the 32-year-old signed a three-year contract to join the Blades from AFC Bournemouth in the summer. Moore played a key part in Kieran McKenna’s team’s top two finish with his seven goals in 18 Championship outings during his second half of last season on loan with the Tractor Boys.

After rejoining the Cherries in the summer, he was given permission to relocate to Bramall Lane for an amount not yet disclosed, rumored to be in the region of £1.5 million. After their Premier League relegation, Chris Wilder began to rebuild the team, and this was just one of many arrivals through the door.

The Yorkshire team has had a great start to the season, winning two and drawing two of their first four games despite being docked two points at the beginning of the competition. Moore, who scored his first goal for his new team in a 2-2 tie with Queens Park Rangers last month, has started every one of those games.

Moore’s focus has returned to domestic football following his 43rd and 44th cap for Wales during the international break, where he scored in a 2-1 Nations League triumph over Montenegro. Tomorrow night, his team will go to Hull City with the hopes of building on their excellent start.

The striker says, “There is going to be a process,” but that the goal is to return to the Premier League in an interview with Sky Sports.

“There is no doubt that this club wants to return to the Premier League, and I believe that everything else including the recruitment process are pointing in that direction.

However, I wouldn’t say that there’s a strong, overwhelming sense that we must return there. It seems like a process to me.

We’re putting together a very strong team. Both our staff and management are excellent. In the end, though, I believe we should truly take each game as it comes, cliché as it may sound.

It will take some time for everyone to adjust because there are a lot of new faces and a different playing style in the facility.

“All we have to do is keep working hard, score as many points as we can, and watch where we wind up as the season draws to a close.”
In this division, Kieffer Moore has a great deal of expertise as an operator and is skilled at finding the back of the net. Many people didn’t think Sheffield United would automatically get promoted at the start of the season, but they will be optimistic about their chances after making some wise acquisitions.

While they won’t be taking their undefeated record lightly, they will believe that they should be up higher in the standings. They will look back on last month’s draw at Bramall Lane against QPR, where they threw up a two-goal lead, as a wasted opportunity. Nevertheless, with leaders Sunderland presently six points ahead of the Blades, Chris Wilder’s side are capable of catching up to those in front of them. They will be relieved that they are largely slipping beneath the radar at this early stage.
