Two killed after car struck by high-speed driver

Binh Nguyen was identified as the second victim of the crash that happened in Sacramento following a police pursuit. According to family, married couple Nguyen and Tien Le left behind an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
Two persons lost their lives after a car engaged in a police pursuit in Sacramento on Saturday morning collided with their vehicle.

Involved in the investigation following the crash, the California Highway Patrol stated that the accident occurred at an intersection on Stockton Boulevard just north of 65th at approximately 8:50 a.m.

The Sacramento Police Department reports that while officers were in the vicinity of Stockton Boulevard and 47th Avenue, they observed two cars driving carelessly and putting the neighborhood in risk.

A brief chase ensued as the officers, riding in a marked car, tried to halt the speeding cars by using their emergency lights and sirens.

The two victims were killed when one of the careless cars crashed with an unrelated vehicle during the chase.

Major injuries were also reported to have been sustained by the driver of the fast-moving vehicle, according to authorities.

The other car left the scene and is still missing.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office named one of the victims on Sunday. Tien Le was a Sacramento resident who was forty-six years old.

The identity of the other victim is yet unknown.
