Barnysle FC transfer saga as midielder finally leaves Reds to join Championship club

The permanent signing of Barnsley’s Callum Styles has been revealed by West Bromwich Albion.

The international from Hungary, Styles, is Albion’s seventh acquisition of the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old midfield player and the team have agreed to a four-year deal.

Styles expressed his excitement at the transfer, saying, “This is a big club and it should be in the Premier League.” To return there is the goal shared by all. An opportunity like this was too good to pass up.”

“I think my positional awareness and understanding of the game will help the team a lot,” he said, highlighting even more of his skills.

Styles can play in central midfield or as an aggressive wing-back on the left, which should add variety to West Brom’s roster.

“I can play in a couple of positions,” he stated.

“I’d like to put my case across in any of those positions and hopefully start as many games as possible.”

West Bromwich Albion head coach Carlos Corberán lauded the new signing, saying, “I am thrilled to welcome Callum to The Hawthorns.” Along with some great character references, he brings experience from international championships.”

The Baggies continued a very encouraging start to the Championship campaign with a 2-1 win at Stoke and are poised to add Barnsley’s Hungary international to their ranks, with an announcement set to follow.

Styles, 24, is moving to The Hawthorns on a permanent deal and Corberan added that his ability to play in up to five different positions was a key factor.
