If the transfer rumors are accurate, here is how Sunderland’s team may appear under Régis Le Bris…

Sunderland’s preseason concluded last weekend in preparation for their Championship start against Cardiff City this Saturday.

After Dan Neil fumbled the ball in the center of the park, Marseille took a 1-0 lead in the first half at Valley Parade on Saturday thanks to Faris Moumbagna. Following the interval, Sunderland responded as Dennis Cirkin headed home a wonderful cross from Patrick Roberts.

After Ruben Blanco made a spectacular save to prevent Roberts, Marseille’s advantage was regained on the fifty-minute mark by halftime substitute Ismael Kone with a brilliant strike. After Eliezer Mayenda was replaced by Nazariy Rusyn, Sunderland was awarded a penalty, which was scored by Adil Aouchiche, another substitute who had taken Jobe’s place. The final score of the match was 2-2.

After a fruitful trial session, Sunderland finalized a deal for goalkeeper Blondy Nna Noukeu prior to the match. Following his deal, the former Stoke City player was at Valley Parade. Talk about transfers including incomings and outgoings has also been prevalent.

Notwithstanding interest from Premier League teams, Patterson signed a new contract with Sunderland last year and has started 91 of the team’s 92 league games since the club’s elevation to the Championship. The 23-year-old has expressed his joy at being a part of his childhood squad. It is anticipated that the local boy will stay this summer unless an incredible offer comes in.

Hume, 22, secured a contract extension at Sunderland in June of last year following a breakout 2022–2023 season. His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2027.

When healthy, the former Tottenham left-back is a vital member of Sunderland’s squad. Regretfully, Cirkin was injured for a large portion of the previous season.
