A statement on Crystal Palace’s official website states that Malcolm Ebiowei, a 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee, has been loaned to Oxford United, a freshly promoted Championship team.
In an effort to get regular playing time, Ebiowei will spend the 2024–2025 season on loan with Oxford United.
The gifted winger played five games and contributed an assist for Belgian Pro League team RWD Molenbeek during the second half of the previous campaign.
During the second half of the 2022–2023 season, he was on loan at Hull City, where he participated in twelve games.
With just five games played and 57 minutes of action, Ebiowei has failed to get into the game since joining the Eagles.
He played for the academy teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Rangers, and Derby County before joining Crystal Palace in 2022. The 20-year-old has experience playing in the Championship, having made a total of 28 appearances for Hull City and Derby County. He has one goal and two assists in those games.
Next weekend, when Oxford United plays Norwich City in their season opener, he might make his 29th appearance in the division.
Ebiowei was included in the Golden Eaglets roster for the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup. He is also qualified to play for England and the Netherlands.
