Man arrested after incidents prompt police to renew their appeal.

A man has been taken into custody by police who are looking into a traffic incident that killed six people on the A61 between Wakefield and Barnsley.

At 3:54 p.m. on Sunday afternoon (21/7), reports of the incident were received by emergency services. It occurred close to the Barnsley village of Staincross.

At the scene, six people lost their lives—two youngsters and four adults.

A Ford Focus was being driven by Shane Roller, 33, Shannen Morgan, 30, Rubie Morgan-Roller, 9, and Lillie Morgan-Roller, 4.

56-year-old Christopher Barton and 48-year-old Janine Barton were riding a BMW S1000 XR Sport SE motorcycle.

This morning, a guy was taken into custody on charges of driving recklessly and causing death. He’s still being held at this moment.

The Major crash Enquiry Team of West Yorkshire Police has released a call to action for anyone who witnessed a grey Porsche 911 being driven in the vicinity at the time of the crash.

Additionally, they would like to get in touch with anyone who may have doorbell, dashcam, or CCTV footage of the vehicle and how it was driven.

“I would like to appeal for anyone who may have seen this grey Porsche 911 being driven on the roads around the south of Wakefield or north of Barnsley to please contact us,” stated Detective Sergeant Steven Suggitt.

Additionally, I would want to ask anyone who has CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage of this vehicle that could help with our investigation to get in touch with us.
