22-year-old Charlton Athletic ace attracting transfer interest

Reporter Richard Cawley claims that other teams are showing interest in signing Charlton Athletic defender Lucas Ness.
In an effort to imbue the The Valley team with his own identity, manager Nathan Jones has had a busy summer transfer window at Charlton Athletic.

Shortly after arriving in February, the Addicks manager made a few free transfer acquisitions, but this summer has been his first genuine opportunity to reorganize the team to his taste.

As a result, there is a lot of hope for them in the upcoming season. Since Jones got along well with the team he took over, including a few of his own purchases, the team is expected to rise quickly back up the League One standings.

However, there are still players who could leave, and defender Lucas Ness is attracting attention.

Reporter Richard Cawley of X verified that the Charlton Athletic defender has admirers outside of his home country. Despite having ankle surgery earlier this summer, which has rendered him unfit at the present, he appears to be gaining attention from other sides.

Who is pursuing Ness and whether it’s a loan or a long-term interest are yet unknown. But everyone agrees that the 22-year-old academy graduate needs to see regular action in the upcoming season.

21 of his 44 appearances for Charlton Athletic’s first team came during the previous campaign, demonstrating his caliber as a defender. However, under Jones, opportunities were scarce, and given his age, he will be eager to start regularly at The Valley.

Ness’s contract could be extended past the end of the upcoming season, and he could be loaned out, if the manager and others close to him think he can still be useful to the team.

If a permanent agreement could be reached, it would be best for everyone. Ness will be able to settle into a new place and really get going as he strives to fulfill his potential.

However, it’s possible that a move won’t happen until he recovers from ankle surgery, so we’ll have to wait and see how things work out for him in the following weeks.

In the event that a move for Ness is approved, Charlton Athletic would not be shocked to see another center back on the transfer market.

Alex Mitchell, a permanent hire from Millwall, has already started. Zach Mitchell, Lloyd Jones, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, and Macauley Gillesphey are his teammates; Josh Edwards can also play on the left side of a back three.

Since Mitchell is only 19 and would benefit from consistent playing time, Ness’s exit might make room for another new member to enter the team.
