CHAOS AT SEA: Cruise Ship Catches Fire – Thousands Dead in Maritime Tragedy
A catastrophic fire has claimed thousands of lives aboard the Golden Horizon, a luxury cruise liner that caught fire in the early hours of the morning while sailing through the Gulf of Aden, near the coast of Yemen.
According to initial reports, the blaze began in the lower decks—believed to be in the engine room—before rapidly spreading throughout the ship. Despite frantic efforts by the crew to contain the flames and evacuate passengers, the intensity of the fire overwhelmed safety systems and engulfed multiple sections of the vessel within minutes.
The Golden Horizon was carrying over 5,200 passengers and crew when the disaster struck. Rescue teams from nearby naval forces and coast guard units have confirmed that thousands are feared dead, with only a limited number of survivors pulled from the water or rescued from life rafts. Dozens have been reported injured, many with severe burns and smoke inhalation.
Eyewitnesses described horrifying scenes of panic, with people jumping overboard and thick black smoke clouding the night sky. Search-and-rescue operations are still ongoing, but hopes are fading for those still missing.
This is one of the deadliest cruise ship disasters in recent history. More updates to follow as the story develops.
