May 21, 2025 – Nassau, Bahamas – Royal Caribbean International has issued a stern warning to passengers after a group of late-returning tourists was left stranded on the island of Nassau on Tuesday afternoon.
According to cruise officials, the incident occurred at approximately 3:45 PM local time when the Harmony of the Seas departed the port as scheduled, leaving behind at least six passengers who failed to return to the ship on time. The company emphasized that all guests are given clear instructions regarding departure times and that it is their responsibility to return promptly.
“While we understand delays can happen, our schedules are set to ensure the safety and timely travel of all passengers,” a Royal Caribbean spokesperson stated. “We strongly urge guests to adhere to port call times.”
The stranded passengers were reportedly sightseeing independently and lost track of time. They are now making arrangements to meet the ship at its next scheduled stop in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Royal Caribbean confirmed it is assisting the passengers with logistical support, but reiterated that the cost of catching up with the ship falls on the individuals. The cruise line has used the incident to remind travelers of the serious consequences of missing all-aboard times.
