NIGHT OF HORROR: Silence and Shock Aboard Viking Cruise Ship After Catastrophic Sea Disaster
In what passengers are calling a “night of horror,” a devastating catastrophe struck the Viking Star cruise ship late last night, leaving many in shock and silence as the vessel battled violent seas off the coast of northern Scotland.
The ship, carrying over 900 guests and crew on a voyage through the North Atlantic, encountered a sudden and powerful storm system just after midnight. Towering waves and brutal winds battered the vessel for hours, causing severe structural damage, flooding in multiple sections of the ship, and widespread panic onboard.
Passengers described the scene as chaotic and terrifying. “The ship was rocking so hard, people were being thrown out of their beds,” one traveler recounted. “Then the lights went out… it was complete darkness and screaming.”
Rescue teams from the UK’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and coast guard services responded rapidly, managing to evacuate several seriously injured individuals by helicopter. The full extent of the damage and casualties is still being assessed.
Viking Cruises has confirmed the incident and pledged full cooperation with authorities in ongoing investigations. The voyage has since been halted, and support is being provided to all affected passengers and families.
This tragic event marks one of the darkest nights in the cruise line’s history.
