A terrifying night unfolded aboard a Carnival cruise ship when a fire broke out late Friday, leaving dozens injured and the vessel stranded at sea. The blaze, which reportedly began in the engine room, quickly spread smoke throughout multiple decks, triggering panic among passengers.

The ship, en route to the Caribbean with over 3,000 passengers and crew, was approximately 120 miles off the Florida coast when the incident occurred. Emergency systems were activated immediately, and crew members worked to contain the fire while assisting frightened guests.

At least 35 people sustained injuries, mostly due to smoke inhalation and minor burns, according to preliminary reports from the U.S. Coast Guard. Medical teams were airlifted to the ship, and evacuation procedures were considered but ultimately halted after the fire was brought under control.

The vessel is currently adrift, awaiting tugboat assistance. Carnival Cruise Line has not yet confirmed the cause of the fire but stated that a full investigation is underway. Families of passengers have been notified, and counseling services are being provided.

This incident raises fresh concerns about maritime safety, particularly in light of past cruise disasters. More updates are expected as the situation develops.
