NIGHT DISASTER: Woman and 3-Year-Old Child Fall Overboard From Cruise Ship — Rescue Teams Respond Swiftly
A relaxing evening at sea turned into a terrifying ordeal when a woman and her 3-year-old child reportedly fell overboard from a cruise ship late last night. The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. as the vessel was sailing through international waters on its way to the Caribbean.
According to early reports, nearby passengers raised the alarm after witnessing the pair fall from one of the upper decks. Emergency response procedures were immediately activated, with the ship halting its course as crew members initiated a man-overboard alert.
Rescue teams, including onboard lifeboats and search units from the nearest coastal authority, launched a coordinated effort to locate the mother and child. After an intense 45-minute search, both were found and pulled from the water alive. Medical personnel onboard are currently monitoring their condition, which is described as stable but requiring observation.
Fellow passengers were visibly shaken, with many expressing concern over how such an incident could happen. The cruise line has not released the names of those involved but confirmed that an internal investigation is underway.
“We’re grateful for the swift action of our crew and rescue teams,” a spokesperson said. “The safety of our guests remains our highest priority.
