The rough seas caused the vessel to take on water and eventually overturn approximately 60 miles off Norway’s west coast. While five crew members managed to survive by escaping on an inflatable life raft and were subsequently rescued by helicopter, Dana was trapped beneath the capsized boat and drowned.
