Carnival Flood Horror: Kids Trapped Below Deck

What began as a picture-perfect family vacation aboard the Carnival Sunrise turned into a waking nightmare when a sudden internal flood tore through the lower decks  trapping dozens of families, including children, in rising, filthy water.

Terrified parents screamed for help as cabin doors jammed and emergency lights flickered. Some guests were waist-deep in water before crew members even realized the situation. A five-year-old girl was found clinging to a floating mattress, soaked and sobbing, separated from her parents for nearly an hour.

“She kept asking if the ship was sinking,” said Emily Harris, a mother of two from Florida. “We had no idea what was going on  alarms didn’t go off, no announcements, just water pouring into our room like a horror movie.”

Passengers say the chaos lasted for more than 90 minutes before help arrived  and even then, evacuation protocols were disorganized. Several families with young children were forced to crawl through flooded hallways with no life vests.

Carnival has confirmed a “technical malfunction in the ship’s plumbing system”, but critics are calling it an outright failure of basic safety protocols, especially after a similar incident occurred last year on a different Carnival vessel.

Social media is now flooded with images of drenched children wrapped in towels and crying in lifeboat stations

a haunting image of what was meant to be a happy escape.

As investigations begin, the question looms:
How much danger are families really in when they sail with Carnival?
