After Tommy Watson and Romaine Mundle suffered injuries, the Frenchman made his debut for Régis Le Bris towards the end of 2024.
However, he has since been sidelined once more following the acquisition of AS Roma loanee midfielder Enzo Le Fee.
The Portsmouth News, the sister publication of the Echo, reports: “The Blues are eager to add the Frenchman to their stale forward options, as the winter recruitment season comes to a head.
” Additionally, the article states: “Aouchiche is undoubtedly a good loan option for Pompey, but it appears that he will be permitted to leave the Stadium of Light in order to gain playing time.”
Aouchiche may yet depart the team this month, Le Bris recently said. Although the 22-year-old is still very much in the running for minutes, he was benched at Burnley when Enzo Le Fée entered the starting lineup and hasn’t played since.

In the weeks and months ahead, Aouchiche’s playing time may decrease once more as Romaine Mundle and Tommy Watson are anticipated to return in February. Le Bris stated prior to Aaron Connolly’s departure: “With Adil, it’s still open and it’s exactly the same case as Aaron [Connolly].
We want for both sides, Adil and the club, we want to open up different options and at the end we will decide what is the better option for the both.”
Le Bris has confirmed that Sunderland is still eager to add a forward to its roster before the transfer window closes. The player might be a flexible player who can play both up front and off either flank.
