Tony Mowbray has recently returned to the Hawthorns. He was picked as their replacement for Carlos Corberan after he left for Valencia.
According to a report by Foot Mercato, West Brom are interested in a move for FC St. Gallen striker Willem Geubbels. Fellow Championship sides Norwich City and Luton Town have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Geubbels, who is 23-years-old, has scored six goals in 13 games so far this season. He is under contract until the summer of 2027 and is valued at £4.2million on Transfermarkt.
He rose up through the academy ranks at Lyon and was a regular for the Ligue 1 giants at various different youth levels. The attacker went on to play four matches for first-team before switching to AS Monaco.
The ex-France youth international spent five years in the south of France and scored one goal in 17 outings. He also had a loan spell away at Nantes to get some experience before heading out the exit door to Switzerland.
West Brom have the chance to bolster their ranks before the end of the window. They also have the opportunity to let some players leave should they wish to.
Speaking after their big victory over Portsmouth, midfielder Mowatt said: “Today’s performance was brilliant and we fully deserved the win.

It was pretty even in the first 20 minutes or so but I think my goal helped to settle us down and we went on to completely control things.
“We wanted to be exciting and play free-flowing football and get the right players on the ball in the right areas of the pitch where we could hurt Portsmouth. We certainly managed to do that and I think the scoreline is evidence of that.
For my goal, we’ve spoken about the need to take more shots. If you don’t shoot then you don’t score. I got a bit lucky with how it went in but we’ll gladly take it.”
He added: “I’m good mates with their manager and he’s been giving me stick about bagging three goals against them this season. We’ve picked up two really good results against them and scored plenty of goals which we’re really happy about.
We’re trying to take on as much information from the new boss as possible. We know how he wants us to play, so the next few weeks will be all about trying to perfect it as quickly as possible.
“We know we’ve not been scoring as many goals as we all would’ve liked this season and we need to work hard to make sure we’re taking on all the information from the new manager because he’s been open about wanting to play an attractive style with lots of goals.
