The denfender is one of two players who Staggies boss Don Cowie revealed was close to finalising an exit from the club on Tuesday.
Cowie moved to bring defender Lamie to Victoria Park shortly after a pre-contract agreement with Dundee was pulled up, and he only joined the Staggies in the summer.
However, Lamie has had a terrible time with County thus far. Prior to suffering an achilles injury, he had only made three Premier Sports Cup appearances.
Lamie was absent for a number of weeks as a result of that, and the 31-year-old was also ill for a large portion of the winter.
In January, Cowie added Norwich City defender Jonathan Tomkinson and Blackpool left back Zac Ashworth on loan to bolster his defensive options.
Dylan Smith, a teenage defender, was also called up by the Staggies from a brief stint with Arbroath.

Lamie, who is now healthy again, has been forced further down the hierarchy as a result.
According to the Daily Record, he is almost finished with a short-term move to Hamilton, which would secure a move closer to home for the Shotts native, who has also played for Motherwell, Livingston, and Airdrie.
