The Football Association has charged former Birmingham City manager John Eustace with misconduct for remarks implying referee Oliver Langford showed partiality during the New Year’s Day Championship game between Leeds and his team, Blackburn Rovers.
After Blackburn equalized to draw 1-1, Eustace questioned Langford’s decision to give Leeds a late penalty, which was converted by Pascal Struijk to give the home team an 88th-minute lead.
“I certainly don’t think we would have got (a penalty) if it was at the other end,” Eustace said during the post-match news conference.
“(Leeds are) a fantastic football club, 36,000 fans, and the referee’s always under pressure to give a decision,” he added. It’s kind of anticipated at Elland Road to be last minute.

Despite having put the team in the Championship play-offs, Eustace was relieved of his responsibilities by Blues when the new management at St Andrew’s decided to appoint Wayne Rooney as the new manager.
That turned out to be a bad choice.
