According to Alan Nixon, Liverpool may try to make a deal for Bournemouth player Antoine Semenyo during the winter transfer window.
The team is eager to add a right-winger to their roster in the upcoming months.
The Reds have been dominant this season, finishing first in the Premier League, in the League Cup semi-finals, and as the only undefeated team in the Champions League.
However, with so few summer acquisitions made in the most recent transfer window, Arne Slot might have a lot of money to spend in the winter.
They have been linked to Semenyo as a result; a winter transfer is possible, although it might be challenging to pull off.
According to Alan Nixon’s report, Bournemouth is pursuing Ben Doak of Liverpool because they fear losing Semenyo. However, the Reds may eventually approach them for Semenyo.
Both Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in Semenyo, who Nixon claims might be headed for a big move away from the south coast. However, the Cherries valued him at £50 million, making any deal during the January transfer window unlikely.
With deals for players like Harry Wilson and Dominic Solanke, the two clubs have an excellent relationship and it would be in everyone’s best interests for Doak and Semenyo, who has “got everything,” to move on in the summer.
Another important factor may be the fact that Richard Hughes, the sporting director for Liverpool, was formerly a member of the Cherries.

However, Newcastle may also have their eyes on Semenyo and could make a move for the Ghana international, whilst Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga is also in their sights, with both being described as ‘future star’ captures.
Liverpool could lose Mohamed Salah in the summer if the Egyptian star doesn’t renew his contract at Anfield, and though Semenyo hasn’t quite shown that he can emulate Salah’s talents, Semenyo has only just turned 25 and has plenty of years left in him at the top level.
With five goals to his name already in this season’s Premier League campaign, Semenyo has been one of the main reasons for Bournemouth’s rise to the top half and the Cherries will be keen to keep hold of their man.
