The forward originally signed a short-term contract with the Red Devils until the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, having arrived from the Canberra Raiders in May.
Despite playing just 11 games for the team last season, Lewis quickly established himself in the Super League and was named the team’s Hitman of the Year.
Given that Lewis is now under contract to stay with the team until the conclusion of the 2025 season, it looked like a no-brainer for Salford to prolong his tenure at the Salford Community Stadium.
Given his contract situation, this year is a big one for the 22-year-old as he strives to nail down another deal and secure his future in the game. But Lewis won’t spend too much time thinking about what lies ahead as he focuses on the performing in the red of Salford.
“I’m not sure,” Lewis said on his future while speaking in a Q&A on his YouTube channel. “I’ve got to take it year by year. Obviously, I’m staying for this year so I’ll just play my footy one game at a time and see what pans out.
But I’m not too stressed about what’s going to happen, I have just got to play my best football and the rest will sort out itself.”
Lewis is one of raft of players off-contract at the end of the upcoming season at Salford and that includes some key men such as the likes of Tim Lafai, Deon Cross, Kallum Watkins, Jayden Nikorima and Chris Hankinson.
As such, it promises to be a pivotal few months for the Red Devils as they plan ahead to 2026 and beyond and wrap up the futures of some of their best and most important players.
