Since the summer of 2019, the Scot has been a member of Arsenal. When he was signed by Unai Emery, he immediately won over the club’s supporters.
However, Tierney has suffered greatly from injuries throughout the years, and he also experienced issues during his 2023–2024 season-long loan with Real Sociedad.
In the summer, Tierney rejoined Arsenal, and in January, he even participated in an EFL Cup match against Crystal Palace. He is now eager to get out of the Emirates and has already decided where he would go next.
It ha been has been informed that Tierney has decided to leave Arsenal and join Celtic in this window.
We can confirm that Tierney has shunned interest from Europe and a few rival Premier League clubs in the last week, as he maintains his insistence on moving back to Celtic.
Leicester City, Brentford and West Ham United are amongst the sides who enquired, as did teams in Italy, Germany and France, But, there was simply no interest from Tierney’s side.
Tierney has decided to return to Celtic this month, according to a December TBR Football report, and the Scottish powerhouses are negotiating a deal with Arsenal.
Arsenal and Tierney have already agreed that he won’t be talking about an extension on his current contract, which runs out this summer, as he had already made it clear he wanted to move back to Celtic.
Tierney has already held talks with the Hoops and a pre-contract is an option, but that depends on whether Arsenal allow him to leave on a permanent deal this month or whether it will be a loan before that becomes permanent in the summer.
TBR is told that Arsenal and Tierney would ideally like to see him finalise a permanent return in the winter window, but talks are ongoing for the best avenue to achieve this.
