Leeds United are ready for ‘every scenario’ in the January transfer window – but Daniel Farke insists their new injury issues won’t affect their plans for the month.
The Whites are looking to add to their squad for the second half of the Championship campaign, with opportunities explored to strengthen their options and improve their automatic promotion chances.
Leeds picked up two knocks in the New Year’s Day 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers, with Sam Byram withdrawn at the break and Jayden Bogle forced off in the second half.
However, Farke confirmed neither are long-term concerns and will not change transfer planning.
The German was keeping his cards close to his chest when it came to areas to strengthen, but he indicated Leeds were ready to move should the right deal come about.
Our recruitment is prepared for every scenario,” he said. “We’re just being reactive in the market because we can’t afford to have four or five players in every position.
I don’t think these injuries are that serious. This game won’t influence the January window.”
Sam had so many games in a row and he looked tired in the first half. He has been struggling with a cold but he wasn’t at his best.
He looked pale at half-time, that’s the reason I took him off. With Jayden, he got a dead leg and he wasn’t able to move. I hope to have them available for Hull.”
